Alright, I am about to go on a rant....just bear with me...
Granted everyone has their talents, but even people with innate capabilities need to continue to work and master whatever talent it may be (Let's be reasonable, though, and forget about Leonardo, and Michael Angelo, and all those dudes and dudettes who obviously were given more then their fair share of natural talent).
What I am saying is that anyone can do almost anything if they try hard, and persevere.
Sooo, instead of sighing loudly at the sight of some great piece of artwork, and whispering to yourself in a self pitying way, "I wish I could do something like that..." or "The only thing I can draw are stick figures..."---Ummm, hello? Have you never seen modern art?? I'm sure stick figures have a place in there somewhere, haha--- do something about it!
If you think you can't draw worth a darn, but wish you could be an artist, there are such things as art lessons. Instead of looking at the world as if it against you, and shielding yourself with your own measly excuses, go out there, take action, and try your hardest to master whatever skill you wish you had.
As inspiration to you all, think of all those people through out history wanting to fly, people going to the moon, Alexander taming Bucephalus, or the myriad of other feats that have been accomplish through perseverance and a little bit of enthusiasm!
Okay, but as I close, I want to make something quite clear: I have been known on many many occasions to sigh and whisper self pityingly to myself. So this is as much a pep talk to myself as it is to others. I am in no way, trying to be or sound "holier then thou", or make myself out to sound like I have never complained before or am always persevering and gaining all these amazing skills, haha, no. But, it does bother me when people wish for and want something badly, yet they do nothing.
I hope this wasn't confusing..... or irritating...
.....or.......
well....
I'll stop now....
Have a great day ya'll!!! :D
You get an A+ for using the phrases "innate capabilities" and "dudes and dudettes" in the same paragraph, and also for mentioning Bucephalus. Rock on!
